Research position, Clinical position

Position offered: assistant in the infectious and tropical diseases department. For this job, a minimum level of spoken and written French is required.

Starting date: November 2025

Duration: 2 years

Composition of the team:
- a professor affiliated to the unit: Professor Christian Rabaud
- a professor affiliated to the « Centre régional en antibiothérapie du Grand Est »: Professor Céline Pulcini
- head of the infectious disease department: Doctor Sibylle Bevilacqua
- An university hospital practitioner (Dr Benjamin Lefèvre) and 8 hospital practitioners work in the infectious disease department department
- 9 students are being trained in the department, including 2 specifically in the fields of infectious and tropical diseases

Clinical activity for half of the working time:
- This work is carried out in collaboration with the department's clinicians
- The department has 30 inpatient beds: general infectiology, endocarditis, osteoarticular infections, infections of immunocompromised patients, pneumopathies, urinary infections, HIV/AIDS, migrant pathologies, etc.
- Each practitioner has a consultation activity: 1 to 2 half-days per week on his or her preferred theme
- Each practitioner takes part in multidisciplinary meetings: endocarditis, tick-borne diseases, osteoarticular infections, echinococcosis, etc.
- Other clinical activities include advising other hospital departments/activities to promote the correct use of antibiotics, infectious risks and biological emergencies, sexual health, vaccinations, travel medicine, etc.


Academic activity for half of the working time:
- This work is carried out in collaboration with the department's academics
- Teaching is carried out in the department or at the Nancy Faculty of Medicine: anti-infectious diseases and therapies, HIV, tropical medicine, etc.
- Research topics depend on the practitioner, but are very varied and focused mainly on clinical research: endocarditis, antibiotic stewardship, vaccinology, tick-borne vector-borne diseases, covid and long covid, general infectiology. This work is carried out in collaboration with various research units (DRCI, CIC, Inserm team UMR 1319 INSPIIRE, depending on the topic).

Organization of a working day:
- working hours from 08:30 to 18:30
- alternating weeks of clinical and academic activity
- No activity on weekends other than day-care service (1 week-end out of 8)
