I am a dedicated and proactive virologist and microbiologist with over seven years of experience in infectious disease research, and extensive expertise in method development, diagnostic detection techniques, and biosafety. As a public health microbiologist, I also have two years of experience working in reference laboratories, focusing on various human pathogens and their relevance to public health. My responsible and meticulous working style, combined with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, has enabled the successful management of complex projects, the results of which have been published in renowned scientific journals.

Guided by the conviction that “no one is safe until everyone is safe,” I apply my expertise and solution-oriented mindset to support evidence-based decision-making, contributing to the protection and strengthening of public health. and evaluated the WHO reference catalogue for genomic resistance prediction, identifying relevant resistance
mutations at regional and national levels.
- Performed genomic investigation of two consecutive norovirus outbreaks in a hospital, caused by the novel re-
emerging GII.17[P17] lineage using metagenomic NGS (mNGS), and evaluated the performance of various diagnostic
methods for noroviruses.
- Implemented susceptibility testing for dermatophytes according to EUCAST guidelines; developed SOPs and
standardized templates for experimental procedures, data processing, and interpretation to monitor resistance
development locally and nationally.
- Conducted trend and risk analyses for various infections, including shigellosis, salmonellosis, diphtheria, and malaria;
collaborated with the Spanish Health Alerts and Emergencies Coordination Center, the National Center for
Epidemiology, and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture.
- Participated in an internal audit assessing the reference laboratory’s quality management system for Enterobacteria,
in accordance with the institute’s internal quality manual and the guidelines of the Spanish national accreditation
body (ENAC).
