Rakhimov R,, PhD, is a pediatrician and infectious diseases specialist of the highest category, currently serving as Head of the Scientific Department for the Study of Viral Intestinal Infections at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (RSSPMCE\&MIPD) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He also works as a consultant in the department of acute diarrheal diseases and is actively involved in laboratory work on especially dangerous zoonotic viral infections.

Since April 2025, he has held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Tashkent State Medical University.

From 2020 to 2023, he coordinated a national clinical trial on the safety and efficacy of the recombinant COVID-19 vaccine ZF2001, in collaboration with Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical (China).

Dr. Rakhimov’s research interests include viral gastroenteritis, emerging and re-emerging infections, and the clinical management of infectious diseases. He has over 18 years of clinical and research experience and is the author and co-author of more than 130 scientific publications.

He regularly participates in regional and international scientific forums and has completed advanced training through platforms such as OpenWHO, Clarivate, and KOICA. He also provides mentoring and guidance in scientific research, conducts training programs, and engages in multidisciplinary and international collaborations in the field of infectious diseases.
